Welcome to HacBack® Target the quads and support the back with this new Leg Press that has the ability to add weight incrementally with the resistance bands and reduce the users weight incrementally with assistance bands.

 (Please Note. The Leg Press is fitted with only one resistance band and one assistance band. If you wish to create more resistance or assistance then you need to add more bands. The process for this is in the Installation and Safety guide.)

 

Guide Note:

Resistance band configuration. 

Anchor plate band hooks > Lower backboard band tab = Resting position.

Anchor plate band hooks > Backrest band tab = Active position.

Assistance band configuration.

Backrest band hooks > Backrest band tab = Resting position.  

Backrest band hooks > Top backboard band tab = Active position.

 

 This assistance feature is excellent in rehabilitation applications where there is a real need for assisted movement initially before changing to resistance or strength training applications. Also because it is mounted firmly to a wall it provides a static movement where stability for the user is helpful while exercising perhaps an injury. This gives the individual lateral stability so they can focus on the injury without having to balance which can be necessary for a safe and stable movement . (Please Note. Always ensure you exercise in accordance with your professional exercise adviser to ensure correct movement and that this exercise machine is best suited for you.)

Another fantastic application is where because of its vertical slim line nature you can simply just walk up to it and fit naturally into position ready for exercise, this makes it excellent for quick transitioning from one exercise machine to another where perhaps time is of the essence. It also has easy to change resistance and assistance bands located where it is easy to alter the resistance or assistance via the bands quickly as desired. This makes it excellent for high intensity class type group sessions where multiple users are frequently changing exercise machines or stations at pace. Because there are no cumbersome weights to contend with, everything is at your fingertips for the quick change of the desired resistance or assistance for the individual person. Everything is tucked away nicely and is firmly located behind the backrest with no loose parts.

The HacBack® Leg Press is essentially a Hack Squat in a standing position with a back rest so that you can rest your back against it as you exercise the quads. As you lean back you can keep your back straight and under less stress as your legs do the work not your back. The reason I created this Leg Press was because my back would hurt doing barbell squats. Because the quads are the largest muscle group in the body with the potential to burn a lot of calories I still wanted to do squats on a regular basis. It gives you an amazing squat localizing the emphasis on the quads with the ability to strengthen the quads and tone legs efficiently and with the added benefit of fast easy transitioning from station to station. With the lateral stable movement and an incredible range of assistance and resistance, the WallSlide is an amazing option for strength training when fast transitioning is needed.

As already mentioned above, in the case of an injury this Leg Press has the added bonus of an assistance application which can help a person become lighter the lower you go into the squat. This helps lift you back out of the squat in a stable supported position which can help strength building become better over time. When you have gained a little more movement and strength, just change a band setting to reduce the lift as you slowly strengthen the injured area. It is also a fantastic choice if you are a little older and need assistance to start exercising your legs, because of this feature along with the static movement as it is fixed firmly to the wall, it will help you feel safe and secure as less balancing is required. It has 2 sturdy handles for you to hold on to while exercising to ensure good stability. (Please Note. How the WallSlide came about !

I think it was about 6:30 am - June 2022, I was in a gym class doing barbell squats when I think my back was trying to tell me something! You see my back is often a little sore, sometimes good and sometimes not so good - in actual fact part of the reason I exercise regularly is to strengthen my core to help my back, but this particular day it wasn't so good. I can still recall, "All I wanted to be able to do was a good squat without the back pain." My personal trainer would often point out the value of the squat and how the quads are the largest muscle group in the body that have the potential to burn the most calories, for me it is just one of those exercises that's a little harder to do correctly with back pain. My PT would say "shoulders back, heels down," and me thinking - "I'm trying but my heels just won't go down." I still remember when the idea came to me, I was doing those squats and my back was hurting when all of a sudden I spontaneously looked over my shoulder and looked at the wall behind me and said to myself, "If only I could lift this weight while resting my back against that wall,"...... and so it began - the journey of the WallSlide™ by HacBack.®

How HacBack® came about.

HacBack® A strategy or technique for managing one's time or activities more efficiently.

Coming up with a Brand isn't as easy as you might first think, in fact you tend to go back and forth with hundreds of names and ideas and then try and narrow them down to just a few before you pick one and hopefully it sticks, but for me nothing quite sat right. I thought for quite sometime about what the WallSlide meant to me and why I wanted to make it, this always brought me back to doing squats efficiently without the back pain.

The Wall Squat WallSlide™ is effectively a "Hack Squat" in a standing position which was always in the back of my mind and therefore I decided to research the different meanings of "Hack." I found that one great meaning for "Hack" is, (A strategy or technique for managing one's time or activities more efficiently.) These words expressed exactly how I wanted to make change that day and then of course there was my "Back," and as mentioned above - this was the catalyst for the change as I wanted relief from the pain.

There is also that other little aspect of "life" where you just feel like you have to make a stand against things in your life that aren't quite where you want them to be, or you want to make a difference for some good, make a change for the better - "HacBack" and Get Results! - For me it was back pain, for you it might be some other form of discomfort that brings you to a point where you want to change your life for the better. Be encouraged today to embrace change and do better for yourself and others.

HacBack® the "Brand" wasn't born in a day but I think when when we process our thoughts over time, we search for the meaning behind them and find the answers we are looking for.

PS: HacBack instead of HackBack you might ask, I just thought it looked better.😊
