Collection: Installation and Safety Guide.

Thank you for purchasing a HacBack® WallSlide.™ Below are all the potential WallSlide™ hazards you need to know about and consider before setting up and while using the WallSlide.™ When setting up the WallSlide™ and fixing it to a wall, always use a qualified person who is competent and has adequate knowledge of the construction industry who understands the structural capabilities of the internal structure of the wall that you are fixing the WallSlide™ to. Not securing the WallSlide™ correctly can affect its use and effectiveness.

Setup.

-       Ensure the WallSlide’s™ Main backboard and bottom anchor plate is screwed and fixed securely to a wall’s solid framing structure so that it is very strong and can withstand heavy vigorous lifting of the WallSlide™ and that the pressures applied to the WallSlide’s™ Main backboard from the resistance bands don’t pull the WallSlide’s™ Main backboard off the wall and cause any injury. At a minimum 2 additional screws will need to be used to screw the top of the WallSlide’s backboard to the wall structure as well as the 3 x 90mm x 8mm hex screws on the bottom anchor plate. As the backboard is made of solid material you may choose any position that suits the fixing into the walls solid framing, however, it “looks” best if they are hidden behind one of the band Tabs. Simply undo the corresponding dome nuts holding the preferred tab, remove the tab, screw the backboard onto the walls structure and refit the Tab to hide the screw locations.

-       The screws supplied are for timber sub frames only and if a concrete wall is to be fixed to, appropriate fasteners are required. Ensure "3 x 8mm" fasteners are used which enter a minimum of "50mm" into the structural part of the wall. Screws supplied are 3 x 90mm x 8mm hex screws for bottom anchor plate and 4 x 75mm wood screws for fixing the upper backboard to the walls structural sub frame. All screws should enter a minimum of 50mm into the walls structural sub frame material. Always ensure there are no wires or plumbing pipes or anything else within the wall that maybe in the fixing locations and always check with a qualified plumber and or electrician before screwing into a wall.

-       Fixing the WallSlide’s™ Main backboard to (wall linings only) will be insufficient to hold the WallSlide’s™ Main backboard in a fixed position and may cause potential harm to the user and or potential damage to the wall or property. Please have the WallSlide™ secured correctly by a qualified person.

-       Ensure the WallSlide™ is mounted on a wall which is plumb and square to a level sturdy floor that can withstand heavy vigorous exercise. The user will be applying additional weight to the floor via the resistance bands, therefore, the floor must be sturdy and such that it can withstand this additional weight applied.

-       Ensure the WallSlide as a whole has been fixed to a wall in a dry clean space to protect the user from slipping either on the floor or while using the WallSlide™ itself.

Potential Hazards.

-       Always use the WallSlide™ under adult supervision.

-       Never leave resistance or assistance bands lying around as these could be a choking hazard or a strangulation hazard for children. Always store resistance and assistance bands away in a safe place.

-       Always warm up, stretch and use good posture when using the WallSlide™ to avoid injury. Don’t lift more than you are comfortably doing so.

-       Always adjust the WallSlide’s™ resistance and assistance band arrangement to suit your strength and fitness level.

-       Never use the WallSlide™ under the Influence of Alcohol or drugs or any other personal inhibiting substance.

-       Always tie up long hair so it doesn’t get caught in the any of the WallSlide’s™ mechanisms.

-       Don’t use the WallSlide™ if you have any knee injuries or any other injury that may get worse instead of better by using the WallSlide.™ Always consult your qualified personal trainer before using the wall slide to ensure that this exercise machine is best suited for you.

-       Never drop the WallSlide’s™ backrest to the floor but lower it slowly and smoothly to rest on the floor using the long handles attached to it.

-       Always be careful when lowering the WallSlide’s™ backrest so that you don’t catch you toe, heal or foot.

-       Always wear appropriate footwear when using the WallSlide™ and when exercising.

-       Always wear hand and eye protection when shifting resistance or assistance band locations or changing and replacing them.

-       Install the WallSlide™ on a wall securely as in the setup stage and ensure it’s in an area where you don’t trip on the handles when it’s in the lowered position as the handles do protrude a little from the wall and could cause you to trip.

-       If using the WallSlide™ for rehabilitation purposes. Always consult your qualified personal trainer before using the wall slide to ensure that this exercise machine is best suited for you.

            Maintenance.

-       Always keep the WallSlide™ clean and dry to ensure longevity of the slide rails and bearings etc.

-       Don’t overload the resistance band Anchor Hooks with more bands to achieve a greater lifting weight than 80kg over both hooks. (80kg over both hooks is the safe working load on the anchor plate hooks as indicated on the anchor plate's information sticker.) This may cause excessive stress on the anchor plate hooks, damage the anchor plate hooks or cause harm or injury.

-       Always wear eye protection and hand protection when changing the resistance and assistance band locations or replacing the bands if they are worn. Have a second person assist with holding the WallSlide’s™ backrest up and out of the way so it doesn’t fall and injure you while changing bands or working on the WallSlide’s™ backrest. The backrest weighs about 20kg by itself so a 2 person lift is recommended when removing the backrest and replacing bands if needed.

-       To remove the backrest simply put all the bands in there resting locations, (as explained in the "Guide note" below) and with one person on either side of the WallSlide’s™ backrest, lift and slide the backrest up and off the guide rails completely. Once the backrest is off the guide rails you can simply change bands accordingly to suit your desired lift as long as you don’t exceed the anchor plate hooks safe working load of 80kg as calculated below. backrest's

-       When putting the WallSlide’s™ backrest back on the guide rails, carefully lift it up and lower it evenly and squarely onto the guide rails to ensure it locates correctly onto the bearing blocks. Take extra care when doing this to avoid damage to the bearing blocks. If multiple WallSlide’s™ are being serviced next to each other, ensure you don't interchange the backrests from one WallSlide™ to another. Because of the precise setup of the sliding mechanism, any slight discrepancy may cause excess friction and wear to the bearing blocks, rails or both. The Backrest should run freely along the guide rails.

Calculating band weight.

-       Don’t over load anchor hooks as these are designed for a safe working load of 40kgs per anchor hook on the lower anchor plate. 80kgs in total over both hooks.

-       Ensure the anchor plate is securely fixed with a minimum of 3 x 90mm x 8mm hex headed anchor screws provided to secure it to the wall framing which can hold this additional load as described above.  You will also need to add a minimum of 2 more screws to fix the upper part of the WallSlide's backboard to the wall also as in the set up stage.

Guide Note:

For Resistance band configuration follow steps below.

Anchor plate band hooks > Lower backboard band tab = Resting position.

Anchor plate band hooks > Backrest band tab = Active position.

For Assistance band configuration follow steps below.

Backrest band hooks > Backrest band tab = Resting position.

Backrest band hooks > Top backboard band tab = Active position.

To calculate the WallSlide’s band weight, follow the simple steps below.

1 - With all the bands in there resting locations, stand on a set of scales with your back against the WallSlide™ but not lifting the backrest at all to record your “Personal standing weight only”.

Caution note: To avoid injury, only do the steps below if you can comfortably lift more than 20kg. It is good practice to have a support person assist with these steps to help where needed.

2 - Now lifting the WallSlide’s™ backrest with the bands still in there resting locations, lift the backrest to your comfortable maximum lifting height. Record your New personal standing weight with the WallSlide's™ backrest lifted.” This should be approximately 20kg heavier as the backrest's weight in itself is about 20kg. Record this weight to use in steps 3, 4, 5 and 6 to calculate the maximum load not exceeding 80kg of total lift on the anchor plate hooks.

Guide note: You don’t need to change bands to increase weight initially as the default setup already has substantial resistance. (Approximately 30kg with both Red band halves attached, 50kg including backrest) Become comfortable with the WallSlide first before changing bands and progressing.

3 - Once you have established your "New personal standing weight," attach one half of the resistance band to the WallSlide’s™ backrest and again stand on the scales. Now - lifting the backrest to your comfortable maximum lifting height and weight, record your “Lifting weight." (1 half band attached).

4 - Now simply subtract your “New personal standing weight (#2)” from the total “Lifting weight (#3)” and ensure that this weight doesn’t exceed 80kg. Note: This is only half of the resistance band force as the second half has to be added and calculated yet.

5 - Please be careful finding your comfortable maximum lifting weight as this can lead to injury. Always warm up and take your time using good posture to achieve this safely, always using eye and hand protection when changing resistance and assistance bands.

6 - Add the second half of the resistance band to the WallSlide’s™ backrest and complete the steps above to calculate the maximum weight to be lifted. Maximum total of 80kg over both Hooks is not to be exceeded.

7 - If you wish to adjust the bands to increase or decrease weight, it is best practice to have the help from another person and follow the steps above to check and achieve the desired weight. The WallSlide™ has the ability to add just less than 100kg in total to an individual's body weight.

Caution: This weight is a lot for anybody so extreme care is to be taken when using the WallSlide™ to its maximum potential. Always use an authorised personal trainer to ensure that this exercise machine is best suited for you.
